80% of plastics end up in the oceans, between 8 and 12 million tons each year, according to the UN, which estimates that if the trend continues, there will be more plastic than fish in the ocean by 2050. Only 9% of the world's 9 billion tonnes of plastic produced has been recycled according to a UN report (2018). Nowadays states take actions to forbidden or limit single-use plastic like Dominica. Finding an alternative to plastic is therefore essential to preserve our environment.
Is it really possible? Which alternatives solutions do we have ? In the short, medium and long term?
